Description

The Stalking Horse Brewery in West LA is a looking for their next server. Our focus is on craft beer, craft cocktails & pub fare in a neighborhood pub environment. Guests have the option of ordering from a QR code from the table or starting a tab at the bar. Our ideal candidate is able to provide fast & friendly service, is motivated & able to multitask on the floor. We have a small & tight knit team that takes on the roles of running food, drinks, bussing, greeting guests, etc in additional to helping tables with any questions or concerns. Craft beer & cocktail knowledge is a huge plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Arrives to work on time & in correct uniform.
• Maintains proper hygiene & food handling procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of our food menu, beers & cocktails & is able to answer guest‘s questions or concerns.
• Performs all duties & adheres to all standards and procedures as stated in the training & the employee handbook.
• Welcomes & greet guests in a warm & friendly manner.
• Inform guests of specials, new beers & events. Make recommendations & answer questions about our food & beverages.
• Ability to operate the GoTab POS system & ability to effectively & accurately enter orders, take payments, etc.
• Maintains knowledge of the floor chart & delivers food & beverages to guests in a timely manner.
• Pre-bussing tables, clearing tables when guests leave & resetting for the next guest.
• Ensure guests are satisfied with the food & service. Respond promptly & courteously to any requests. Involve managers as needed when issues arise.
• Communicates effectively & professionally with co-workers & guests.
• Maintains cleanliness & organization of the server stations. Restocks when needed.
• Acts in a professional manner that represents the restaurant, owners, partners and staff.
• Demonstrate teamwork in all areas of the restaurant.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of food service experience.
• Basic knowledge of service procedures & functions.
• Possess basic math skills & have the ability operate a POS system accurately & effectively.
• Have working knowledge of food, beer, wine, liquor & classic drink recipes.
• Food Handlers Certificate required.
• California RBS Certificate required.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends & holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to constantly move, bend & stand for extended periods of time.
• Frequently wash hands.
• Ability to transport items up to 35 lbs. Including but not limited to carrying glasses, plates, trays, boxes, tables, chairs, etc.
• Some job tasks or duties may require repetitive motion.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers & guests.
• Ability to work & stay focused in a fast paced environment.
